Propagation
Plant fresh seeds in a deep container to 150mm (6in) deep during spring, keep moist and maintain a temperature of 19º to 27ºC. (66º to 81ºF).

Sporadic germination may take up to 3-months and, do not allow the seed to dry out before sowing.


Botanic information
Leaf: The yellowish-greed costapapalmate fronds are deeply divided in to linear segments that are thread bearing and notched at the apex. The rounded crown consists of 20 to 40 leaves with petioles up to 2m (6ft) long, spreading at the base and clasping the trunk.

Flower: The small white cyathiform flowers have dark tipped calyx lobes and are arranged in rachillae up to 126mm (5in) long. The arching branched cluster appears from the leaf bases and is up to 1.8m (5ft) long. Flowering period in during early summer but may vary in tropical regions.

Fruit: The spherical black drupe is arranged in a dense cluster.
