Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F).
Semi-hardwood cuttings taken during summer apply bottom heat.

General pruning information
This plant tolerates a light prune directly after flowering but will not regenerate if pruned hard into old wood. Lightly pruned plants form a compact habit producing more flowers.


Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green leaves are lanceolate to oblong with an acuminate apex and a very short petiole. The texture is leathery and the leaves are arranged densely along the reddish branchlets.

Flower: The tiny tubulate male and female flowers are arranged in separate terminal heads,surrounded by leaf-like bracts. The bracts are pale yellow at the base becoming greenish towards the apex, lightly pubescent and reddish along the margins. They appear during spring.

Fruit: The cone-like fruit contains small nuts and thesmall seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
