In propagation may be carried out by division, but this is difficult.
Botanic information
Leaf: This plant produces no leaves. Small bracts may be evident at the base of the inflorescence and the stem itself may be green.
Flower: The small calceolate flowers have free slightly cupped sepals and petals with the whitish labellum attached directly to the base of the column and a spotted pedestal.
The flower colour varies from pink with red spots to mauve without spots and occasionally deep purplish red. Up to 50-flowers are arranged in a terminal raceme opening successively from the base during summer and are held above the ground on a slender dark brown to greenish scape from 500 mm (20in) to 1m (3ft) tall.
