Soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoots during the growing period. Bottom heat may encourage fast root development.
Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F).
Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green leaves are variable from obovate to narrow lanceolate with a serrated margin. The lower leaves tend to be larger and the peduncle is short.
Flower: The tubulate flowers have 5-sepals and a split corolla with 5-petals that are spread out like a fan and are yellowish towards the base. They appear profusely in the leaf axils on the upper part of the stem during summer.
Fruit: The tiny fleshy dark-blue to purple drupe normally contains 2-seeds thatare viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively to maintain true to type.
