Soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoots during late spring and semi hardwood cuttings taken during late summer.
Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green leaves are lanceolate to oblong and is almost sessile. The upper surface is wrinkled and glabrous and the underside is pubescent. The margin is entire to crenate and the texture is leathery.
Flower: The small stellate flowers have 5-white petals and a reddish centre, they are arranged in a loose axillary cyme. The flowers appear abundantly over the plant during early spring and are a feature of the plant.
Fruit: The tiny capsule is covered in short bristles that are up to 3mm (2/16in) long. The small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
The dried fruit is used in floral arrangements.
