Propagation
Sow seed when ripe in pots and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F), may requires scarification or pre soaking in acidic water for several hours. Germinates in 2 to 3 weeks.
Cuttings taken during summer apply bottom heat.
Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green leaves are obovate to linear with a leathery texture and has silky hairs on both sides. The apex is obtuse and the base is cuneate with a short petiole.
Flower: The tubulate flower has 4-curled back black lobes and a protruding style and there are 5 to 7 flowers arranged in a sessile terminal cluster that appears from autumn to winter.
Fruit: The small smooth woody follicle contains winged seeds. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
