Propagation
Surface sow fresh seed during spring in a well-drained media, and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F). Prick out and pot up when they are large enough to handle.
Botanic information
Leaf: The juvenile leaves are ovate to orbicular up to 110mm (4¥in) long with a short petiole and an obtuse apex. The concolorous adult leaves are ovate to deltoid or broad lanceolate up to 30mm (1?in) wide with an acute apex and a short petiole.
Flower: The clavate buds have a hemispherical operculum and are arranged in a axillary panicle of 7 to 15 on pedicles up to 30mm (1?in) long. The white flowers appear during midsummer.
Fruit: The shortly pedicellate or sessile woody capsular fruit is ovoid and arranged in clusters each with a narrow level disk and 4-valves that are level to the rim or slightly descending.
General pruning information
Eucalyptusspecies require little pruning apart from removal of damaged or dead wood, which should be taken off at the collar. If the tree is cut back hard it will produce epicormic shoots and the crown may be lifted or thinned by removal of selected branches.
