Botanic information
Leaf: The longdark green linear leaves are slightly folded upwards with a rough but entire margin and tapers to a sharply acuminate apex. The leaf has an open sheath at the base and the leaves unite to form a short stem.

Flower: The small nodding stellate flowers are blue with long anthers topped with a yellow filament. They are arranged on a slender branched panicle that is held above the foliage from late spring to early summer and are a feature of the plant.

Fruit: The small berry is blue-purple and is long lasting on the plant. The seeds are dispersed by birds, animals and gravity. The small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
