Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF) for 24 hours. Seeds may require scarification (peeling treatment).

Semi hardwood cuttings taken during late summer to autumn, up to 50mm (2in) long and dipped into hormone powder.

Botanic information
Leaf: The dull green ovate leaves are up to 60mm (2¥in) wide with a short petiole and a cuneate base. The margin has 3 to 11 sharply pointed triangular teeth and the underside has prominent venation.The upper surface is glandular and pubescent.

Flower: The small pubescent tubulate flowers have a pistil up to 25mm (1in) long and are pale to dark pink. The fowers are arranged in a terminal umbel-like cluster. They appear during spring and are bird pollinated.

Fruit: The oblong follicle is up to 9mm (?in) wide with a thin pericarp and contain smooth flat-oblong seeds to 9mm (?in) long with a small wing around the margin. The small seeds are viable but the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
