Semi hardwood cuttings taken during late summer to autumn, up to 50mm (2in) long and dipped into hormone powder.


Botanic information
Leaf: The leaves are variable from linear or compound with 5-lobes and both types are normally present. The leaves have a very short petiole and an obtuse apex. They are crowded on the stem and the upper surface is flat or convex, pitted with fine white hairs.

Flower: The pink-red tubulate flowers have a pedicel to 4mm (?in) longand the red style is up to 20mm (΅in) long. The flowers are arranged in a one sided terminal raceme up to 20mm (΅in) long, held away from the foliage on a slender peduncle. They appear from late winter to early spring and are bird pollinated.

Fruit: The oblong pointed follicle is up to 6mm (₯in) wide with a wrinkled pericarp and the small seeds are not normally seen but the plant regenerates from seed. The plant is reproduced vegetatively.
