Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF) for 24 hours. Seeds may require scarification (peeling treatment).
Semi hardwood cuttings taken during late summer to autumn, up to 50mm (2in) long and dipped into hormone powder.
Botanic information
Leaf: The sessile pinnate leaves have narrow-linear filamentous lobes up to 20mm (µin) long. It has a prominent mid vein and the underside has silky hairs in the groves. The tips of the branchlets are sparsely covered in silky hairs.
Flower: The glabrous pink tubulate flowers have a pedicel up to 6mm (¥in) long and the exserted style is up to 25mm (1in) long slightly curving downwards. The flowers are arranged in a semi pendant terminal cluster up to 30mm (1¥in) long and 50mm (2in) wide and appears during spring.
Fruit: The triangular-like shaped follicle is up to 4mm (?in) wide with a thin pericarp and contain smooth-glossy oblong seeds to 8mm (?in) long with revolute margins. The small seeds are viable but the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
