Propagation
Surface sow fresh seed during spring in a well-drained media, and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F). Prick out and pot up when they are large enough to handle.

Note
Under cultivation the tree attaining a height of 8m (25ft) and the hard wood is difficult to burn.


Botanic information
Leaf: The sessile juvenile broad-ovate leaves are mealy grey-green and persist on the tree. The sessile pendant adult leaves are lanceolate to up to 40mm (1?in) long.

Flower: The glaucous diamond-shaped buds are sessile and have conical operculum. The whitish flowers are up to 4mm (?in) wide and arranged in an umbel of 3 to 10 and appear during autumn.

Fruit: The pedunculated woody capsular fruit is bell-shaped arranged in umbles of 3-10 each with a broad rim, slightly raised disk and 4-slightly exserted valves.


General pruning information
Eucalyptusspecies require little pruning apart from removal of damaged or dead wood, which should be taken off at the collar. If the tree is cut back hard it will produce epicormic shoots and the crown may be lifted or thinned by removal of selected branches.
