Surface sow fresh seed during spring in a well-drained media, and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F).


Botanic information
Leaf: The glossy dark green adult leaves are oblong-lanceolate with an acuminate apex, cuneate base with a petiole up to 10mm (?in) long. The margin is coarsely serrated and when the leaves are crushed theyhave a pleasant 'sassafras' smell.

Flower: The campanulate flower have 6-tapering perianth lobes that are white with a silky-downy texture and the anthers have long appendages. The peduncle is short and groups of 3 are arranged in an axillary cluster that appears during early winter.

Fruit: The hairy egg-shaped capsule is enclosed in a enlarge receptacle that splits down one side to reveal the dark brown seeds.
