Propagation
Surface sow fresh seed during spring in a well-drained media, and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F). Prick out and pot up when they are large enough to handle.
Botanic information
Leaf: The grey green adult leaves are lanceolate to falcate up to 25mm (1in) wide with an acuminate apex. They have a reddish petiole up to 50mm (2in) long extending to a prominent mid-rib. The texture is leathery and the leaves are concolorous.
Flower: The obovoid sessile buds have rostrate operculum and are arranged in a cluster of 4 to 7. The flowers have numerous long, cream to sometimes bright yellow stamens and appear during early spring and are a feature of the tree.
Fruit: The urn-shaped (urceolate) lightly ribbed capsule has a short peduncle and with a narrow disk with 3 to 4 descending valves that are deeply inclosed.
