Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º to 64ºF) for 24 hours. Seeds may require scarification.
Botanic information
Leaf: The glossy dark green trifoliate leaves have 3-obovate to elliptical leaflets that are up to 100mm (4in) long with a cuneate base with a short stalk and an acute apex. The slender petiole is up to 100mm (4in) long and the leaves appear towards the end of the branches.
Flower: The tiny cyathiform flowers have 4-sepals and 4-petals and contain 4 to 8 exserted stamens. They have a short pedicle and are arranged in an axillary cluster on a long peduncle. They appear during mid summer.
Fruit: The small dry capsule contains up to 4-carples each with a single glossy black seed.
