Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring or when available in pots and place in a cold frame to germinate. Pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF) for 24 hours. Seeds may require scarification.

Pruning
Tolerates a light prune after flowering back to a node, remove any dead wood back to the collar. If there is insufficient light towards the base of the tree prune the crown to allow the light in. The plants tend to be easily damaged by wind or borers, and damaged material should be removed.


Botanic information
Leaf: The blue green slightly curved thick phyllodes have an obtuse apex and a prominent central nerve. The petiole is short and a gland is found on the upper margin.

Flower: The bisexual tubulate flowers have inconspicuous sepals and petals with prominentstamens on a short smooth peduncle. There are up to 25-arranged in a ball-shaped cluster and up to 12-clusters are arranged in an axillary raceme that appears from laate winter to early spring.

Fruit: The dark brown curved pods are flattened and constricted between the seeds. The black oval seeds are up to 7mm (¥in) long and have a fleshy aril.
