Botanic information
Leaf: The large broad-ovate leaves have a cordate base with a purplish underside and is held out on a 400mm (16in) long slender petiole that has 4-angles (winged). The upper surface has well defined veins that run parallel to the margin and are a feature of the plant.

Flower: The tiny bisexual flowers are arranged densely in a slender spadix with a reflexed spathe and is held above the foliage on a winged peduncle up to 600mm (2ft) long. In tropical regions flowers appear throughout the year otherwise during summer.

Fruit: The berries contain small seeds that are viable but the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.

Culture
Anthurium magnificum may be difficult to grow they require a minimum temperature of 15ºC (60ºF) with indirect bright light during both summer and winter. Yellow leaf margins occur from cold temperatures.
Use tepid water in small amounts but regularly to maintain a moist but not wet composted soil mix and mist the leaves regularly to maintain humidity. Re-pot only as necessary during spring.
The plant is also susceptible to Anthracnosewhen grown under glass.
