Propagation
Sow fresh seed from autumn to spring and in cold climates place in a cold frame.

Semi-hardwood cuttings taken during summer.
Air layering during the growing period.
Difficult to transplant.


Botanic information
Leaf: The pendant leathery lanceolate leaves have a long acuminate apex and a short petiole. The upper surface is glabrous and the underside is pale green with prominentvenation. The margin is entire and may be undulating.

Flower: The small upright cyathiform flowers appear towards the end of the branches in the leaf axils and have a long gynophore to the ovary. The sepals are recurved and the petals are yellow-orange. They appear during summer.

Fruit: The small axillary fruit is a follicle that is rounded and fleshy. The small seeds are viable but the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
