Semi-hardwood cuttings taken during summer apply bottom heat.
Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green leaves are ovate to elliptical with an abrupt acuminate apex and the base tends to be cordate. The petiole is short and the veins are anastomosing.
Flower: The red tubulate flowers have an orange-red circular calyx up to 25mm (1in) wide and 5-fused petals that form a tube that spread at the opening. The stamens are exserted and the flowers are arranged in an axillary raceme appearing along the stem from summer to autumn.
Fruit: The drupe contains seeds that are not commonly used and the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
