Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º to 64ºF) for 24 hours. Seeds may require scarification.
Botanic information
Leaf: The yellow-green pinnate leaves have 14 to 25 oblong leaflets with anastomosing vernation, a short stalk and are arranged oppositely along the red-brown rachis.
Flower: The yellow crateriform flowers have 5-obovate petals and up to 10 stamens are arranged in a upright terminal corymb-like panicle to 350mm (14in) long. The flowers in tropical regions may appear throughout the year but normally bloom from summer to autumn.
Fruit: The long flat legume is pendant and contains numerous hard coated seeds.
