Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a temperature of 19º to 27º C. (66º to 81º F).

Cuttings of non-flowering shoots during summer.


Botanic information
Leaf: The glossy dark green leaves are obovate to elliptical-oblong with an obtuse to acute apex and have a cuneate base with a petiole up to 7mm (¥in) long. The texture is leathery and the leaf is up to 40mm (1?in) wide. The new growth and young leaves are covered in dense white-woolly hairs when young becoming glabrous.

Flower: The red campanulate flowers have linear-oblong sepals that are covered in tomentose and the larger petals are recurved. There are 2 to 4 flowers arranged in a terminal umbel or they appear solitary during spring.

Fruit: The globose hard woody capsule has 3-valves and contains numerous seeds that are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
