Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º to 64ºF) for 24 hours. Seeds may require scarification.
Botanic information
Leaf: The tiny grey green scale leaves are reduced and not normally seen. The flattened branchlets carry out photosynthesis.
Flower: The orange-yellow papillionate flowers have a red centre. The calyx is composed of 5-lobes with an orbicular standard and the stamens are free. They are arranged in a one sided terminal raceme that appears during spring.
Fruit: The flattened oblong pod is covered in minute whitish hairs and contains hard coated seed.
