Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring in pots and place in a cold frame to germinate in cool climates.
Semi-hardwood cuttings taken during late summer to autumn.


Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green leaves are lanceolate to narrow-obovate with an acute apex, cuneate base and a very short reddish petiole. The upper surface is corrugated with recurved margins and both sides are downy. During autumn the leaf may turn ruby red.

Flower: The small white 5-pettaled crateriform flowers are arranged in corymb that is up to 50mm (2in) wide and appears during spring.

Fruit: The ovoid berry-like pome is dark red to crimson and persists on the plant during winter. The small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
