Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F).
Soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoots during late spring to early summer.
Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green leaves have margins that are serrated towards the acute apex and the petiole is short. The surface is pubescent and the leaves are arranged in opposite pairs.
Flower: The tubulate corolla is densely pubescent with 2-lips, the erect upper is concave and the lower is divided into 3-lobes. They are arranged in 2-whorls in an axillary raceme-like cluster towards the end of the stems and appear from autumn to winter.
Fruit: The fruit is composed of 4-glaborous nutlets. The small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
