Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a temperature of 16ş to 18ş C. (61ş to 64ş F) in pots and placed in a cold frame.

Soft tip cuttings in spring and semi hardwood cuttings taken during summer.


Botanic information
Leaf: The glossy drk green leaves are ovate to oblong with an almost truncate base. The petiole is up to 30mm (1Ľin) long and the apex is acuminate. The upper surface has a textured, pubescent surface and the underside is pale green with prominentvenation.

Flower: The 2-lipped tubulate flowers have a tubular calyx and the corolla is blue-violet with the upper lip being pubescent above. The flowers are arranged in a dense terminal raceme that is up to 300mm (1ft) tall and appears during summer.

Fruit: The small nutlet develops inside the calyx and produces viable seed but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
