Propagation
Sow seed when ripe during autumn in pots and place in a cold frame to germinate.

Semi hardwood cuttings taken during summer.

Note:
This plant is not commonly cultivated and may be difficult to obtain requiring a specialist nursery.


Botanic information
Leaf: The glossy dark green leaves are broad elliptical to oblong and may be slightly pubescent. Its apex is acute to acuminate and the petiole is short. The leaves are produced on twigs that are downy when young and are aromatic when crushed.

Flower: The unisexual or bisexual apetalous flowers have 4-white sepals and no petals. The centre is yellow with the filaments extending out up to 12mm (½in) and there are 5 to 9 flowers arranged in an axillary umbel that appears during spring.

Fruit: The fruit is a long purplish-black ovoid berry and the small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
