Propagation
Surface sow fresh seed during spring in a well-drained media, and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F). Prick out and pot up when they are large enough to handle.
Layering during the growing period.


Botanic information
Leaf: The leathery textured leaves are elliptical to obovate with an acute to acuminate apex and has a short yellowish petiole. The upper surface is deep green and the underside is grey-green with both sides glabrous.

Flower: The crateriform flowers have 5-petals and numerous long stamens and are arranged in the leaf axils with a pedestal up to 7 mm (¥ in) long. The flowering period is late spring but may be intermittent over summer appearing singularly in the leaf axils.

Fruit: The berry is green maturing to red or yellow and contains many small angular seeds. The calyx is persistent at the apical end. The ripe fruit is sweet and aromatic with translucent, very juicy strawberry flavoured pulp.
