Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a temperature of 18º to 21º C. (64º to 75º F).
Air layering during the growing period.

Seedling stock produces fruit in 7 years and grafted plants produce fruit in 5 years.


Botanic information
Leaf: The glossy green palmate leaves have 3 to 7 elliptical to ovate leaflets that are up to 125mm (5in) long and are pubescent on the underside. The leaflets have undulating margins with an acuminate apex and a short reddish stalk. The leaf petiole is up to 100mm (4in) long.

Flower: The small greenish crateriform flowers have 5-petals and sepals with 5-stamens. It appears on new wood in a terminal or axillary panicle from winter to early spring and are bee attractive.

Fruit: The large ovoid drupe has 2-5 cells that contain a 2-5 toxic seeds and is green maturing to yellow. It consists of a cream coloured soft pulp with a sweet peach-flavour. The fruit should be picked when green and stored on a cool place to ripen. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
