Propagation
Stratify fresh seeds for 2 to 3 months at 5º C (41ºF) then sow in spring and maintain a temperature of 19º to 27º C. (66º to 81º F).
Semi hardwood cuttings taken during summer.
Botanic information
Leaf: The short scale leaves are closely pressed along the stems and when touch they have has a raspy texture. The apex is acute and the leaf colour varies from light green to yellowish.
Flower: The male cones are appear abundantly at end of small twigs all over the tree during spring and the female cones are small.
Fruit: The globular cones are woody with brownish scales and ripen in 2-years. Each scale contains 2 to 5 broad wing seeds that are oblong and appressed. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
