Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring in pots and place in a cold frame to germinate.


Botanic information
Leaf: The acicular leaves are arranged in bundles of 3 spirally or in whorls along the stem towards the end of the branch. They are flattish and sharply pointed.

Flower: The tree is monoecious with the staminate (male) catkin-like flowers appearing in a cluster and the reddish female strobili appearing in pairs during spring.

Fruit: The blue-green pendulous ovoid cones have up-turned scales that contain 2-winged seeds. The cones mature in 2-3 years.
