Propagation
Sow fresh seed in autumn or spring in pots and place in a cold frame to germinate. Maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F).

Take basal cuttings during spring.


Botanic information
Leaf: The mid green sessile leaves are lanceolate to oblong with a margin that is serrated towards the acuminate apex. The base of the leaf clasps the stem and the leaves are arranged alternately too spirally.

Flower: The radiate flowers have lilac-blue to violet ray-florets and yellow disk-florets. They are arranged in a loose corymb up to 150mm (6in) wide and appears during late summer.

Fruit: The small cypsele are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively to maintain true to type.
