Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF) for 24 hours. Seeds may require scarification (peeling treatment).

Take semi hardwood cuttings taken during late summer to autumn, up to 50mm (2in) long and dipped into hormone powder.

The plant regenerates by seed after fire.


Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green sessile leaves are narrow-linear with an acute apex and recurved margins that obscures the whitish underside.

Flower: The tubulate flowers have squarish tomentose pedicles that are up to 6mm (¥in) long and oblong perianth segments that are curl backwards. The style is up to 25mm (1in) long and the flowers are arranged in a umbel-like cluster from winter to spring. The flower colour ranges from pink, red, orange.

Fruit: The elliptical follicle is up to 9mm (?in) wide with a thin smooth pericarp and contain narrow elliptical seeds to 12mm (½in) long with a short wing. The small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
