Propagation
Place spores on sterilised sphagnum moss, peat moss, bricks or terracotta pot base then cover with glass and keep moist. 4 to 6 weeks until prothalli appears. True fronds appear between 6-12 months after sowing.

Division during the growing period, cut the rhizomes in to lengths and plant apex upwards, apply bottom heat and keep moist.

Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green sterile pinnate fronds are up to 150 mm (6 in) long with a petiole up to 350 mm (14 in) long. They are deeply lobed or have 1-2 pinnate segments that are deltoid to linear-lanceolate with biserrate margins and are up to 60 mm (2? in) long by 8 mm (? in) wide. The fertile fronds are similar to the sterile fronds with finer deltoid to ovate segments.

Flower: The fertile fronds have sporangia in 2-rows along the margins on the underside of the ovate to lanceolate ultimate segments and appear from late summer to early winter.

Fruit: The spores are produced in the oblong sporangium during the sporophyte stage of the fern life cycle in rows on the back of the fertile frond. The spores are very small (like fine dust) and are released from the sori when mature and dispersed by wind or water.
