Propagation
Take semi hardwood cuttings during summer and placed on a misting bench.


Botanic information
Leaf: The blue-green leaves are elliptical to obovate up to 130mm (5in) wide. It has a coarsely serrated margin, acuminate apex and a long reddish petiole. The underside is glaucous and the reddish veneration is reticulate.

Flower: The male catkins are up to 180mm (7in) long and the female are up to 300mm (12in) long. Both appear with the new leaves in spring.

Fruit: The small capsule contains seeds that are covered in fine hair. The fruit is not commonly used and the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
