Propagation
Divide established clumps (rhizome) during early spring while dormant.


Botanic information
Leaf: The narrow linear leaves are grass-like with a bright orange mid rib. They have a flat appearance with an acuminate apex and under harsh conditions the leaves have a more rusty colour.

Flower: The cratiform flowers are iris-like with 3-petals and 3-sepals that form a loose cup-shaped. They are arranged on a tall scape in a panicle and appear during spring.

Fruit: The capsule contains small seeds that are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
