Propagation
Stratify fresh seeds for 2 to 3 months at 5º C (41ºF) then sow in spring and maintain a temperature of 12º to 15º C. (55º to 59º F).
Take semi hardwood cuttings during summer and apply bottom heat.
Botanic information
Leaf: The pubescent sessile leaves are ovate to oblong with an obtuse apex. The texture is thick and leathery and the leaf may have up-turned margins or are undulating. The underside is densely covered in white tomentose.
Flower: The tubulate flower has a tube that splits on one side with an exserted upward curving yellow style and turn reddish. The ovary is sessile and contains 1-ovule. The flowers are arranged in a terminal cluster that is surrounded by bracts and appears during summer.
Fruit: The tiny fruit is a whitish nutlet and the small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
