Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F).
Take soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoots during the growing period.
Botanic information
Leaf: The glossy dark green leaves are narrow lanceolate to linear and has glandular dots on the upper surface, pubescent pale green on the underside. The margins tend to be recurved and the apex is acute.
Flower: The tiny cyathiform flowers has 5-reddish sepals and no petals and are arranged in a plum-like inflorescence that is surrounded by creamy-white leafy bracts that are up to 30mm (1¥in) long. The bracts are covered in fine brownish hairs. They appear during spring.
Fruit: The small capsular fruit contains viable seeds but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
