Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a temperature of 19º to 27º C. (66º to 81º F).
Take semi-hardwood cuttings taken during summer and apply bottom heat.
Aerial layering is carried out during the growing period.
Botanic information
Leaf: The palmate leaves have a petiole is up to 150mm (6in) long and 7 to 11 elliptical to obovate leathery leaflets. They are arranged on short stalks to 25mm (1in) long and radiating out from a central point. The margins are entire and the apex is acute.
Flower: The small flowers are arranged in a terminal umbel that is up to 300mm (1ft) wide and appears during spring.
Fruit: The small fleshy berry-like drupe is orange-red turning black on maturity and appear in large clusters. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
