Botanic information
Leaf: The palmately lobed leaves have 5 to 9 deeply cut oblong lobes with margins that may be undulating and obtuse apexes. The slender petiole is long and in warm climates remains evergreen.

Flower: The crateiform flowers have white petals and sepals that spread to reveal purple-blue, white coronas and an upright column. The column is composed of greenish anthers and red-brown style and stigma. They appear during spring.

Fruit: The ovoid berry is finely pubescent turning yellow-orange when ripe. It is editable but of poor taste. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
