Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F).
Take soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoots during late spring to early summer.
Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green leaves are lanceolate to linear with a short to medium size petiole and an acute apex.
Flower: The small 2-lipped flowers are expanded tubulate to funnelform with a yellow throat. They are arranged in a terminal raceme that is held above the foliage on long peduncles. The flowers are short lived, but may produce a second bloom after pruning. They appear from late spring to summer.
Fruit: The tiny 2-locular capsule contains many small seeds up to 3500 per gram and are very viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
