Propagation
Sow seed when ripe in pots and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F), may requires scarification or pre soaking in water for several hours.


Botanic information
Leaf: The phyllodes are obliquely elliptical and may be undulating. The surface is covered in fine pubescence with a central neve that runs to an acuminate apex, this is soft and hooked. The petiole is short and there is no obvious gland.

Flower: The small ball-shaped flower head has up to 20 tiny tubulate flowers with short stalks. The flower heads are arranged in a long terminal raceme that can form a leafy panicle and appear during spring.

Fruit: The straight pods are flattened, green to blue-red and are rounded over the seeds and slightly constricted.


General information on pruning Acacia species
Tolerates a light prune after flowering back to a node, remove any dead wood back to the collar. If there is insufficient light towards the base of the tree prune the crown to allow the light in. The plants tend to be easily damaged by wind or borers, and damaged material should be removed.
