Botanic information
Leaf: The silvery green leaves are ovate to oblong and 2-pinnatifid with a villous surface. The petiole is short and the adjoining branchlets are densely pubescent.

Flower: The cratiform flower has 5-lilac petals with the two upper marked in dark purple. There are up to 5-blooms arranged in an umbel that is held above the foliage in a slender scape and appears during summer.

Fruit: The small dry capsuleis a schizocarp containing 5-celled carpelsthat separate from the base and twist spirally. The tiny seedsare dispersed by wind, but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
