Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF) for 24 hours. The seeds may require scarification.

General information on pruning Acacia species
Tolerates a light prune after flowering back to a node, remove any dead wood back to the collar. If there is insufficient light towards the base of the tree prune the crown to allow the light in. The plants tend to be easily damaged by wind or borers, and damaged material should be removed.


Botanic information
Leaf: The very narrow phyllodes are up to 3mm (?in) wide and are not rigid or pungent. They have one prominent longitudinal central vein and an acuminate reddish apex.

Flower: The small tubulate flowers are loosely arranged in an axillary spike that is up to 50mm (2in) long and are scattered through out the plant. They appear during early summer but may appear sporadically during the warmer months of the year.

Fruit: The slender pods contain several blackish seeds.
