Propagation
Sow seed when ripe and place in a cold frame to germinate.

Take soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoots during late spring and semi hardwood cuttings during late summer.

Botanic information
Leaf: The glossy dark green leaves are ovate to cordate with a margin that is crenulate to slightly lobed. The leaf has a short thick petiole with an obtuse apex and is covered in fine whitish pubescence.

Flower: The small 2-lipped tubulate flowers are arranged in a dense axillary spike that is up to 250mm (8in) long and appears during early summer.

Fruit: The 4-nutlet are smooth or have a reticulated pattten on the outside. The small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
