Propagation
Collect and sow fresh seeds in a well-drained media and keep moist. Up to 80% od seeds germinate within 30 days and should be picked out and pot up, then grown on for one season with protection from hot sun before planting out.


Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green juvenile narrow scale-like leaves are incurved and have a pungent acute apex. They appear in 2-ranks oppositely along the juvenile branchlets. The dark green twisted imbricate adult leaves are scale-like to lanceolate up to 25 mm (1 in) long by 14 mm (½ in) wide and have a prominent midrib with an incurved acute apex. The leaves are arranged spirally along a rope-like branchlets and appear towards the end of the horizontal branches.

Flower: The cylindrical male cones are up to 130 mm (5? in)long by 30 mm (1? in) wide with triangular scales and microsporophyllis. The spherical female cones are up to 120 mm (4µ in) long by 80 mm (3? in) wide with erect triangular bracts up to 15 mm (? in) long and wide at the base. They appear during early spring or throughout the year in tropical regions on different trees.

Fruit: The globular female cone matures is up to 120 mm (4µ in) long by 80 mm (3? in) wide and has erect triangular bracts that are up to 15 mm (? in) long. It contains numerous light brown seeds that are up to 30 mm (1? in) long with an elongated tip and have a ovate wing. The largest seeds tend to be more viable and produce stronger seedlings.
