Propagation
Sow ripe seed during autumn in pots and place in a cold frame to germinate or sow seeds during spring. Divide the suckers during spring.


Botanic information
Leaf: The mid-green pinnate leaves have up to 25 lanceolate to oblong leaflets that have a petiole to 12mm (½in) long. The glabrous underside is light green with prominentveins and the margin has several course teeth. When crushed the leaflets have a unpleasant smell.
The terminal buds are absent and the small reddish brown lateral buds have two opposite thickish scales that are downy.

Flower: The yellow male and female flowers appear on different trees (dioecious) and are arranged in a terminal panicle up to 300mm (1ft) long and appear during early summer.

Fruit: The samara is surrounded by a yellow-green wing that tapers at both ends and is up to 14mm (½in) wide. It matures to an orange-red, and then turns brown and persists on the tree during winter. The seeds are very viable and self-sow`s easily.
