Propagation
Sow ripe seeds and maintain a temperature of 19º to 27º C. (66º to 81º F).

Divide the offsets during spring.
The large round bulb should be planted with the necks at the surface of the soil.


Botanic information
Leaf: The glossy dark green leaves are broad lanceolate to ovate with an abruptly acuminate apex. The leaves unfold from within the base of the previous leaf forming a soft short stem.

Flower: The tepalled apetalous flowers have prominentstamens tipped with yellow anthers. There are up to 200 arranged in a spherical terminal umbel that is up to 150mm (6in) wide and it is held above the foliage on a scape that is up to 450mm (18in). They appear during summer.

Fruit: The small berries contain tiny seeds that are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
