Propagation
Sow seed when ripe and place in an open frame to germinate.

Take semi hardwood cuttings taken during summer.
Aerial layering is carried out during the growing period.

This species may be difficult to obtain in some countries.


Botanic information
Leaf: The dull green leathery leaves are lanceolate to oblong with an undulating serrated margin and an obtuse apex. The petiole is short and the buds are reddish.

Flower: The small male flowers are arranged in an elongated catkin and the female are arranged in a globular cluster. Both female and male flowers are found on the same plant and appear during spring.

Fruit: The small drupe appears in clusters and the seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
