Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º to 64ºF) for 24 hours. Seeds may require scarification.
Transplant the clump during spring.
Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green long linear leaves are flattened and fibrous and tend to bend or arch when mature.
Flower: The tiny sessile bisexual flowers consist of 4-scale-like segments and are arranged in whorls with 4-stamens opposite the segments. The flowers are appear in a slender spadix that is up to 150mm (6in) long and is held above the foliage on a tall angular scape from late spring to early summer.
Fruit: The ovoid whitish berry contains a single large brown seed that are viable but the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively
