Sow seed when ripe and place in an open frame to germinate.
Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green leaves are ovate to oblong with a stout reddish petiole and an obtuse apex. The texture is thick and leathery and is commonly covered in silvery tomentose. During extreme dry conditions the leaves are shed and form new leaves when it rains.
Flower: The radiate flowers have yellow disk and ray florets with a slightly pubescen involucre. The flower-heads are arranged in a cyme that appears from winter to early spring and is a feature of the plant.
Fruit: The tiny cypsela (seed) has no pappus or awns.
